Step 1 - December 11-14th - From Quebec to Mississipi - 2750 km
Finally, we've got warm weather! As planned, tuesday december 11th, we left our hometown to reach Magog city. We slept at my uncle's house. Wednesday morning, the trip began in a weird way.. the westfalia was stuck in the snow!! So, around 10:00AM we finally drive to the USA border!
First day on the road, a little bit cold!! In the westfalia we don't really have any heating system, so.. we do what we can! In the state of Massachussets, the snow finally dissapear! And that was it, no more snow for this winter!! We passed into New York, then in Philadelphia, to finally stop before Baltimore, in Maryland and that's where we've stayed for the night. The second day was crazy! 16 hours of driving.. that's a lot of hours!! Our goal was to reach Atlanta in Georgia to appreciate the beauty of this city. In Atlanta the buildings with all the lights make it magic! It's such a wonderful place to be at night! Today, we drove from Atlanta to Biloxi, in the state of mississipi. The weather is incredible, it's over 25 celcius.. compare to the -25C in quebec! That's what we were looking for and that's what we found! So, a lot of driving in the past 3 days.. the reason is quite simple, we want to be in mexico as soon as possible to finally take it more relax and enjoy at 100% our trip! And we also wanted to get out of this cold weather! Here's a picture of me and my father in Atlanta at night. Tomorrow, we are planning to visit New Orleans, and then to drive up to Houston, Texas. The best would be to be able to reach Brownsville, the city where we'll cross the border of Mexico. Here's a nice bridge, south of Alabama on the HWY 65 at sunset. Have a nice day!! Michael & Mario Lo hago solamente para ti amiga de santa cruz! que disfrutas ! :) Here is what we drove: |
